The company is a leader in the design, engineering, manufacturing and distribution of luxury packaging for the beauty industry, and co-founders Derek Harvey and Jonathan Gross began their partnership as Sigma Chi fraternity brothers at the University of Arizona in Tucson. With an inherent entrepreneurial spirit and long-term goals of owning and operating their own business, Harvey and Gross combined their talents to found Fusion Packaging in July 2004. Today, Harvey heads Fusion’s marketing and sales teams, while Gross oversees operations for the company’s design, engineering and manufacturing divisions. New Launches

Lumson introduced a new pack for the application of liquid and extra liquid foundations with its Perfection Drops. The pack uses the high-precision AB226 Dropper and a special wiper to guarantee a precise and clean application. The AB226 Dropper was engineered to complement Lumson’s collection of glass bottles, in many shapes and designs and all of which can be customized and decorated in house. The AB226 Dropper is an aluminum-covered dropper with a PP inner soft part in nitrile that prevents product contamination. It can be decorated with special colors (rubber, outside and inside the collar) and screenprinting around the collar. The glass pipette is available with different tips, and the wiper inserted inside the bottle works to remove any product residue.

Axilone developed Vaposphere, a single-handed capping system focused on use of use and handling. The user just has to turn the locking ring with two fingers to open the sphere-shaped cap and activate the revealed measuring dispenser or spray. Also, closing it is as straightforward—one counter-rotation of the ring and the container is locked. It is suitable for makeup, beauty and personal care, and perfume products.

Sephora worked with Cosmogen for the development of its Squeaky Clean Pore Cleansing Brush. The brush cleanses while respecting the skin. Its dense round hair tuft is made of very thin and soft fibers. It penetrates deep into pores to remove dirt in hard-to-reach places while also providing a pleasant and gentle scrub. The small black wooden handle has been adapted for easier handling, and the rope makes it easy to hang on a suction cup that has been integrated inside the pack for more convenience.

VariBlend announced its involvement in the launch of two new hair color products from Redken—the Blonde Idol Custom-Tone Conditioner Violet for Cool Blondes and Blonde Idol Custom-Tone Conditioner Gold for Warm Blondes. The six-position, custom-blending design of the dispenser helps consumers design a personalized, six-week hair regimen by simply turning the dispenser head one stop each week to gradually dial in more color. Redken selected Variblend’s 49 mm MaxiMix dispenser, which works well for hair products that require a larger dosage per stroke. The bottle, dispenser and cap package for Redken also features a custom label and color.

Guerlain is celebrating the 30th anniversary of its compact range with a bronzing powder called Terracotta Sun Celebration. As for previous editions, the design and manufacture of this wooden compact was undertaken by Technotraf Wood Packaging, a Quadpack company. Technotraf created the compact from sustainably sourced beech wood, stained a rich, dark brown with a silky smooth finish. The two-part compact has a high-end magnetic twist closure. The twist-and-click movement is satisfying and entirely intuitive, and the top has a mirror built in for convenience. The sunburst powder design is replicated on a gold anodized plaque fixed to the top of the compact for a look that’s pure luxury.
