MAC Promotes VP of Global Communications

Karen Buglisi, global brand president MAC Cosmetics, announced the promotion of Catherine Bomboy Dougherty to senior vice president global communications, MAC Cosmetics, effective June 1, 2011.

"Catherine's contributions to the success of M-A-C have been enormous," said Buglisi. "Her extraordinary leadership and strategic skills play an important role in our brand. She has led major communications successes all over the globe that have fueled our growth, while reinforcing the iconoclastic and edgy spirit of the MAC brand. I am thrilled she will be leading the communications team."

Dougherty has been the vice president global communications, international, MAC Cosmetics for the past two years, overseeing the communications activity for Europe, Middle East, Africa, India, Asia-Pacific and Latin America. During her tenure she oversaw the Lady Gaga and Cyndi Lauper Viva Glam campaign internationally and strategized key communications efforts such as the Semi-Precious launch in Brazil, and MAC + Mickey Contractor, renowned Bollywood makeup artist, in India. Before working with MAC, Dougherty was the vice president, global communications, BeautyBank, and from 2004–2007, she worked in communications at MAC and Sean John Fragrances. She also worked at Marina Maher Communications as a senior account supervisor, eventually becoming their vice president, cosmetics.
