New CEO Takes Over at Beiersdorf

As announced in October 2011, Stefan F. Heidenreich has taken over for Thomas-B. Quaas as CEO of Beiersdorf AG at the company’s annual general meeting. Heidenreich has more than 25 years’ experience in leading positions in the international consumer and branded goods industry. He started his career in 1987 at Procter & Gamble in Germany, before moving to Reckitt Benckiser in 1992. Four years later, he was appointed to the Hero Group’s executive board, taking over as CEO there in 2002.

In his speech to the shareholders, departing CEO Quaas emphasized, “We have laid an excellent foundation for Beiersdorf’s successful business development. Our new strategic direction has made the company stronger and more powerful. The generation change at the head of the company is complete. I see the CEO position in good hands with Stefan F. Heidenreich.”

In the past fiscal year, Beiersdorf streamlined its product portfolio significantly. The company is focusing on its core competency, skin care. Quaas confirmed the company’s outlook for 2012, with Beiersdorf expected to grow in line with the market and achieve an improved return on sales.

Prof. Dr. Pöllath, the chairman of Beiersdorf’s supervisory board, thanked Quaas for his many years of successful work and wished new CEO Heidenreich and his executive board colleagues every success at the head of Beiersdorf.
