MAC Announces Organizational Change

MAC Cosmetics announced the promotion of Nick Gavrelis to vice president, global product development, Face and Pro, effective July 1, 2008. Most recently, he served as executive director, global product development, Face and Pro, MAC Cosmetics. Now Gavrelis will continue to expand the strategic portfolio development of MAC foundations, powders and professional-grade MAC products and services.

“Nick Gavrelis is a talented product innovator,” says John Demsey, group president, The Estée Lauder Companies. “His passion and knowledge of the beauty industry is a tremendous asset to the brand, and I’m delighted to announce this well-deserved promotion.”

Prior to joining MAC, Gavrelis worked as a makeup artist, commercial and fine art photographer. In 1992, he joined Nordstrom as a MAC artist and was promoted as Nordstrom’s first national beauty director. In 1996, he returned to MAC as a manager, artist training, East Coast and in 1999, he left to pursue his own business, Pretty Pretty. However, in fall 2001, Gavrelis returned to MAC and has been an integral part of the product development team ever since.
