Colorescience Brings New Execs on Board

Colorescience announced the appointment of former SkinMedica CEO, Mary Fisher, who joins the brand in the same capacity. She will also serve on the company's board. (SkinMedica acquired Colorescience in early 2012, and Allergan purchased SkinMedica late in 2012 with plans to spin Colorescience back off into its own business.) Josie Juncal, chief commercial officer for Colorescience and also formerly of SkinMedica, will remain in her current position. In addition, former SkinMedica senior vice president of corporate development Ted Ebel joins Colorescience as chief business officer.

"Josie has truly transformed this business over the past year," said Fisher. "Under her leadership, we have an impressive new management team, an expanded sales team, improved brand architecture, streamlined operations, and market-leading growth in our top brand, Sunforgettable. The opportunity to work with Josie and with Ted, who led the SkinMedica acquisition of Colorescience, is exciting, and I am confident that together we can establish Colorescience as a top brand in both makeup and sun protection."

"Colorescience was an acquisition priority for almost two years at SkinMedica. It was gratifying to lead the acquisition, and it is rewarding to join the Colorescience team and contribute to the global opportunity we have always envisioned," said Ebel.

"I'm delighted to welcome my former colleagues to Colorescience," said Juncal. "I look forward to further leveraging our proven strategies and tactics to grow the business, building on a platform of makeup that is good for the skin, unparalleled sun protection and a partnering approach that delights our customers."

In 2012, new Colorescience management appointments included accomplished veterans of cosmetics and life sciences, including:

  • Patricia Boland as director of product development and ideation, who brings a decade of development and marketing expertise in the beauty and cosmetic industry. She is former chief beauty director and infomercial presence at Laura Mercier.
  • David Crist as executive director, finance, and controller, with more than 20 years experience in finance and accounting. He has held leadership positions at both retail and health care companies, such as Solatube and Innercool.
  • Torie Hardee as national sales director, who offers almost 20 years as a veteran of the cosmetic and health care industries, formerly national director of sales and infomercial lead at Valeant Pharmaceuticals, with earlier career experience at Estee Lauder.
  • Lindsey Vanderbilt as director of marketing, with more than 12 years experience in brand management and marketing in the cosmetics industry, including leadership positions at Avon, Coty and Beaute Prestige.
