Garnier has teamed up with TerraCycle and DoSomething.org for Rinse, Recycle, Repeat, a new campaign aimed at educating young people on how to recycle personal care items.

Brand ambassador Mandy Moore serves as the campaign’s face, starring in a PSA offering tips on how to responsibly recycle empty bottles.

Participants sign up via DoSomething.org/rinse, decorate their own recycling bin and share the picture on the website’s “Prove It” page or by texting RINSE to a designated number. Once the bin has ten pounds of beauty empties, participants can print a free shipping label and send their empties to TerraCycle for recycling.

Once bottles are collected, they will be recycled by TerraCycle and packaged into pelletized lumber to build furnishings such as picnic tables, benches and playground equipment for Garnier’s Green Gardens.

A college competition, held April 1st-30th, will take place on 50 college campuses across the US; the winning school will receive a community garden from Garnier and TerraCycle.
