Church & Dwight Co., Inc. reported net income for the third quarter, ended Oct. 1, 2010, of $69.5 million, compared to last year's reported net income of $70.0 million. Reported net sales for the third quarter increased 1.7% to $656.9 million. Organic sales grew 2.8% during the quarter for the total company. Growth for some of the company's domestic brands and products were partially offset by lower sales of the company's dental care and deodorant offerings.
The consumer domestic division's net sales were $481.3 million, a $0.4 million decrease or 0.1% below the prior year third quarter sales. Consumer international net sales were $109.1 million, a $5.1 million increase or 4.9% above the prior year third quarter sales. Organic sales increased 5.6% during the quarter, primarily reflecting increased sales in Canada, Brazil, the U.K., France and Australia.
