Volume & Price Drive Unilever Half-year Results

Growth in Unilever's personal care business was led by volume and pricing in competitive markets during the first half of 2015. The company's innovation pipeline will reportedly help it accelerate growth ahead. Unilever also recently partnered with Alibaba to increase ecommerce engagement in China.

Unilever reported first half turnover of 27.0 billion euros and personal care turnover of 9.9 billion euros. Unilever's second quarter turnover was 14.2 billion euros, with 5.1 billion euros coming from personal care.

The company recently acquired several key brands, including REN and Dermalogica

Unilever is expanding into new segments and enjoying strong growth in deodorant dry sprays in North America, as well as compressed formats in Europe and Latin America.

  • TRESemmé's Perfectly (Un)done and Runway collections
  • Activ Naturol's "superior germ kill"
