A trend-forecasting Web site dedicated solely to the beauty and packaging industries launched June 15, 2010. Beautystreams.com is a global trend site that combines expert trend-forecasting complete with original inspirational photo shoots and multi-sensory videos, a comprehensive image bank and trend reports. Beautystreams.com is intended to act like a virtual office with tools for research, develop and sharing concepts directly online with colleagues. In addition, Beautystreams.com offers bespoke consulting for clients who require exclusivity in trends and colors, and GCI magazine looks forward to bringing readers more of Beautystreams.com’s insights through an ongoing collaboration.
Beautystreams.com is the brainchild of Lan Vu, a leading trend authority. Previously creative director for New York trend companies Stylesight and Here&There, her clients included Estée Lauder, Lancome, Revlon, Smashbox, Ralph Lauren, Gap and Max Mara. She is joined by forecaster Bengt Jacobsson, a member of the influential Premiere Vision color committee and former creative director at Paris trend bureau Carlin International, consulting for clients such as L'Oréal, Wella, Coty Lancaster, Boots Beauty and H&M.
"While there are many Web sites dedicated to fashion trend-forecasting, Beautystreams.com is the first of its kind to cater uniquely for the beauty and packaging industries," says Lan. "Our approach is simple and specific, to bring together the best creative professionals to convey a clear, strong focus for our clients. We aim to provide the most valuable insight, inspiration and intelligence in the beauty trend-forecasting sector."
Focusing on global macro and micro trends in the beauty and packaging industries, Beautystreams.com takes a three-pronged approach to its service:
Beautystreams.com's advisory board includes: Renaud Manceron, director of visual merchandising at Hermes; Philippe Musette, president of the Dermatological Research Society and board member of the European Society of Dermatological Research; David Shah, publisher of Textile View, View2, Viewpoint and Pantone View Color; and Orlan, a celebrated artist, Chevalier de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres (Knight of the Order of Arts & Letters).
