Avon Opens Voting for Makeup Mavens Contest

Avon announced voting is now open for its Makeup Mavens makeup video contest, open exclusively to Avon representatives across the U.S. The contest also showcases Avon’s new YouTube channel, which currently features video submissions from Avon representatives seeking the title of Makeup Maven. More than 600 representatives submitted how-to beauty videos for the chance to be crowned one of the four Makeup Mavens, and the field has now been narrowed to 60 semi-finalists for consumers to vote on. The four winners will serve as Avon color brand ambassadors throughout 2013.

"Our Avon representatives are extremely passionate and savvy about beauty," said Lily DeStefano, vice president of beauty marketing for Avon North America. "We're so excited to see them share their expertise with the online community."

Through December 11, 2012, consumers can vote for their favorite how-to beauty video from the 60 Avon representative semi-finalists on Avon's new YouTube channel. Consumer votes, along with a panel of judges, will determine the four regional Makeup Maven finalists. Each of the 60 semi-finalists, including the four finalists, will travel to New York in February 2013 to participate in a makeup master class with Avon celebrity makeup artist Paul Innis. They will also tour Avon's $100 million research and development facility in Suffern, New York, and share ideas with Avon's product development team.
