Who's job is it to handle a brand's social media? Think about it for a moment before reading further.

According to new research from The Creative Group (TCG), most advertising and marketing executives think PR should own the social media effort. Hmmmm.

According to TCG's numbers, 51% of respondents believe that public relations/communications should own the social channel, compared to 39% of respondents in 2013; 28% of respondents replied "marketing," compared to 35% in 2013.

Rounding out the list, customer service garnered just 9% of the votes, while CEO/owner received just 5%.
