C&T magazine Announces Tech Award Winners at HBA
Posted: September 19, 2007Cosmetics & Toiletries magazine announced the winners of its 2007 International Technology Awards at the HBA awards dinner on Sept. 18, 2007. The winner of the New Technology Award was Silab for its Coheliss natural active ingredient. The winner of the New Technology Launch Award was Cognis for its APG ad campaign.
The new technology award recognizes a technology for its importance to the industry and perceived long-term impact. The technology launch award recognizes a significant launch or marketing campaign and its impact on the industry, as well as the uniqueness of the campaign. Nominations for both awards were made by a select group of 50 R&D experts at leading cosmetic and personal care companies around the world.
Accepting the New Technology Award on behalf of Silab was Jean-Philippe Cosson. Silab's Coheliss natural active ingredient acts as an internal tensor. According to the company, by stimulating the mechano receptors and alpha-SMA fibers, the ingredient maintains mechanical tension in dermal tissue thereby stimulating skin mechanical resistance facing gravitational forces. The ingredient is recommended for antiaging applications and was featured in the November 2006 issue of Cosmetics & Toiletries magazine in an article by Catherine Lenaers et al. titled, "Wrinkle Reduction by Stimulation of the Skin's Mechanical Resistance."
Accepting the New Technology Launch Award on behalf of Cognis was Mike Coxney. The company's APG ad campaign, includes 6 motifs (3 personal care and 3 home care). The ad campaign for alkyl polyglucoside (APG) promotes it as a "green" surfactant used in cleaning products and comprises three themes covering the personal care and home care segments, with one ad in each showcasing the lead visual for the corresponding market.
