Sabinsa Names a New CEO

Posted: July 29, 2013

Sabinsa announced Jayasankar (Jay) Nair has joined the company as CEO, based in the company's East Windsor, New Jersey, headquarters. He was previously part of the Sabinsa team as CFO from 2001 to 2010, lending to his extensive knowledge of the industry.

Nair spent 23 years with the State Bank of India in senior assignments specializing in marketing, business development, training and HR activities. He took up challenging roles in setting up the Centurion Bank, followed by a stint with IndusInd Bank. After his nine years as Sabinsa’s CFO, he was recruited to set up a U.S. company for the large and diverse Muthoot Group, a 126-year-old company based in India. He is also a well-known speaker in the banking industry, giving lectures on “Effective Communication” and “Marketing.”

“We are pleased that Jay has returned to Sabinsa as the chief executive officer, to plan and execute a disciplined and ambitious growth pattern,” said Sabinsa founder Dr. Muhammed Majeed. “We have expanded both globally and in intellectual property, and will benefit from Jay’s experience and leadership as we move forward.”

“Sabinsa has accomplished many impressive achievements, and I am very much looking forward to working with the team to expand our reach,” said Nair. “Sabinsa’s portfolio of products can have a significant impact on the health of consumers worldwide, which was Dr. Majeed’s original mission, and I am pleased to be back at Sabinsa to help pursue that mission."
