Ciba Officially Shortens Name

Ciba Specialty Chemicals announced at its March 8 annual general meeting that it will now use the name “Ciba” without the addition of “Specialty Chemicals” due to a new agreement with Novartis. The name change will be slowly implemented, and will conclude with the expected renaming of the holding company at the 2008 general meeting.

The partnership created forests that will remove over 60,000 lbs. of carbon dioxide each year, exceeding its reforestation goals of 28,000 lbs.
