GCI magazine Collaborates for Conference at Cosmoprof

At the upcoming Cosmoprof North America, happening July 22–24 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas, GCI magazine will collaborate on the educational conference session "(R)Etail Landscape: Alternative Channels," taking place Sunday July 22.
Moderated by GCI editor in chief Jeff Falk, the conference session will discuss how e-commerce retailing has become the hottest distribution channel, with U.S. e-commerce sales predicted to grow 62% to $327 billion, according to Forrester Research (February 2012). Today's e-consumers look for status and targeted assortments, in addition to a compelling experience enriched by a social networking component. This conference will allow attendees to learn how women really feel about online shopping from a customized study done by TotalBeauty Media for CPNA and presented by TotalBeauty Media’s Ethelbert Williams; how the right items and pricing structures are achieved with brand partners on member-only sites such as HauteLook, with insight from HauteLook’s vice president of beauty Paula Scandone; and gain insight into newer models such as OpenSky, which takes a different approach to the traditional shopping experience and is discussed by OpenSky’s general manager of beauty and healthy living Allison Slater.
