HSN announced that it has hired Alicia Valencia as its new senior vice president of beauty. Valencia will be responsible for strenghtening the direct-to-consumer content retailer's competitive positioning and growing its product offerings. She will also have the full responsibility for leading HSN's innovation in beauty merchandising, product development, planning and programming strategies to enhance HSN Beauty in today's retail sales environment.

Ulta Beauty is facing competition from Sephora amid a wider slowdown in beauty; that said, the U.S. market is on target to grow through 2026.
