Henkel Adhesive Technologies India is betting big on the professional hair care and color market in India. Even as it strengthens the position of its older brand Schwarzkopf in the market, Henkel has launched its second professional hair care brand, Indola, to focus on all types of professional hair services.
According to Ravi Bhatnagar, head, sales and marketing, Indola India, the company will stock the products across 5,000 salons in metros and class A cities in India. Currently the focus of the brand is this distribution model and creating awareness among consumers. Bhatnagar says that the company will initially focus on approximately 35 urban areas. Unlike Schwarzkopf—which, positioned as a premium brand, competes with L’Oréal Professionnel and Wella—Indola will focus on the mass segment and young adults who are stepping into the world of grooming.
