Designer Parfums Acquires Ghost Brand From P&G

Designer Parfums announced it has reached an agreement with P&G Prestige, subject to contract, to acquire the Ghost Fine Fragrance business. It is envisaged that the acquisition will take place on Jan. 31, 2012.

The acquisition of Ghost is in line with Designer Parfums' global strategy to develop and distribute iconic fragrances across a variety of market sectors and comes soon after the recent additions of both Jean Patou and Monsoon Fragrance brands.

The continued expansion is the vision of Dilesh Mehta, Designer Parfums managing director, and is in line with his ongoing strategy to work with and nurture some of the finest and most recognizable brands in fragrance.

"Ghost is a perfect fit for Designer Parfums," said Mehta. "Ghost is one of the leading premium fragrance brands in the U.K. market with top 20 national ranking and retail sales of around £35 million pounds."

Brands currently owned or licensed by Designer Parfums include Agent Provocateur, Jean Patou, Worth Paris, Aigner Parfums, Jean Louis Scherrer and Monsoon fragrances.
