The Procter & Gamble Company (P&G) announced it will consolidate the manufacturing and administration of its Nioxin operations, located in Lithia Springs, Georgia, USA, with the larger P&G North America Salon Professional organization. The consolidation will result in the closing of the Lithia Springs facility in 2010.
The business will be managed out of the company's North America salon professional headquarters in Woodland Hills, California, USA. This decision is based on the results of a study to determine the best location of administrative and manufacturing operations. Consolidation of all brand operations and manufacturing will enable P&G salon professional to create better long-term economics, generate additional manufacturing scale, a more robust research and development infrastructure, and greater organizational capability.
In connection with this decision, administrative and manufacturing positions will be consolidated at strategic North American sites including Woodland Hills, California, and Mariscala, Mexico. Approximately 112 positions at the Lithia Springs, Georgia site will be impacted. Approximately 25% of Nioxin employees will transition into the larger North America salon professional organization.
