Posted: August 30, 2006
Skin care sales in the U.S. grew by 9% in current value terms in 2005, according to a new report from Euromonitor International, “Cosmetics and Toiletries in the U.S.” Nourishers and antiagers were again strong performers in 2005 with 18% growth over 2004. This growth was largely the result of new products such as at-home versions of chemical peels and microdermabrasion kits, which boosted the sector.
General purpose body care provided additional skin care growth in 2005, with an almost 10% increase. Growth of nourishers/antiagers, 2000-2005 Performance of facial cleansing wipes and general-purpose body care, 2000-2005
