Euromonitor Presents Skin Care Data in New Graphics

Euromonitor International released a series of datagraphics looking at the skin care segment of the beauty marketplace. In a post titled “Skin Care: The Powerhouse of Beauty,” the market research company notes that “global skin care market has continued its strong performance in beauty and personal care during 2011, showing no sign of a slowdown. Despite both Japan and China’s economies having a difficult year, Asia Pacific continued its dominance in premium facial care, while Western Europe held on to its lead in body care. While Japan leads in both per capita spending and in sales, China is quickly catching up, with over 40% of skin care absolute growth by 2016 expected to come from China.”

The various datagraphics include graphs displaying the world regions that lead each skin care category, with breakdowns between mass and premium; skin care growth by category, with a special face care break out graph; how much different countries are spending on skin care products (Japan, China and the U.S. rounding out the top three); and statistics on how the skin care market is expected to grow in the coming years.
