FGI and Applied Brilliance Event Explores Innovation and Imagination

Presented by Fashion Group International and Applied Brilliance, Applied Brilliance is a one-day forum (May 17, 2011) that explores innovation and imagination while identifying emerging trends and cultural shifts. Presentations by 13 experts, all examples of applied brilliance, are designed to inform, inspire, confound, provoke and transform. The forum is designed to help members of the fashion/style and beauty industries understand how innovation and imagination are touchstones to the future of global culture, with a holistic view of key trends that will change how people work, live and play.

The event aims to help attendees view the world from a fresh perspective, consider the implications of connectivity within our cross-borders marketplace and understand how the creative process fuels the future of creativity, at all levels.

Session topics include "Transformation: The Future of Invention," "Transaction: The Future of Connection," "Transcendence: The Future of Creativity" and "The Future of the Future."

Featured speakers include: Noel Brown, president, Friends of the United Nations; Andre Fenton, Center for Neural Science, New York University; Ethan Zuckerman, senior researcher, Berkman Center for Internet and Society, Harvard University; Mark Kingwell, associate chair of philosophy, University of Toronto.
