ICMAD Hosts "Expand Your Business Internationally: The EU Market"

The Independent Cosmetic Manufacturers and Distributors Association (ICMAD) will host Expand Your Business Internationally: The EU Market at the 2012 ISSE Long Beach show on Monday, January 30, 2012. According to ICMAD, the European Union (EU) presents tremendous opportunities for U.S. companies looking to or are ready to expand internationally. However, brands must be prepared before entering the EU.

Even with global economic turmoil, strategically developing international markets can increase profits and help make your company a worldwide brand. To get to that level, companies must follow and implement certain steps. The ICMAD event will feature well-known brand owners and business development consultants whose expertise has helped them become successful on a worldwide basis. The event will provide an overview of necessary steps to enter EU market, pit-falls to avoid and the legal protections a company needs to enter the EU.

The session will be moderated by Harlan Kirschner, president of The Kirschner Group, which expands companies domestically and worldwide.

Kirschner will be joined by the following speakers:

Sharon Blinkoff, Counsel, Venable LLP: Blinkoff advises clients on a broad range of regulatory and intellectual property and business matters arising in the advertising, marketing, distribution and sale of consumer products. Her background also extends to those products regulated by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration including cosmetics, medical devices, drugs, and dietary supplements. Blinkoff serves as a board member for ICMAD.

Gregg Emery, President, Farouk Systems: With more than 20 years experience in the professional salon industry, Emery joined Farouk Systems in 2009 as the executive vice president of sales and promotions. He has helped build the company's field sales, and has consistently focused on driving customer value that has contributed to Farouk's recognition as a leader in hair care products.

George Schaeffer, Founder & Executive Vice President, OPI Products: Schaeffer built the professional nail care company through an acute business sense and a commitment to the professional beauty industry and its needs. Schaeffer has taken OPI to global success and understands the requirements of building a leading international organization.

The event runs 8:00-9:00am. The cost is $35 for ICMAD and/or PBA members; $45 non-members. Registration is available at probeauty.org/isselb.
