New Splash Pavilion at HBA to Feature Independent, Emerging Brands

Serving as a springboard for emerging brands and independent companies to showcase their latest finished goods to the beauty community, a new Splash Pavilion will make its debut at HBA Global, June 19–21, 2012, at Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York. This area on the HBA exhibit floor will feature unique product offerings from all over the world that have been curated by a jury panel of retailers, beauty bloggers, brand experts and entrepreneurs.
“Today’s beauty consumers have an insatiable hunger for innovation and newness. I’m thrilled to be part of discovering and showcasing the next wave of beauty must-haves,” said Ann Colville Somma, innovation consultant and blogger at CultofPretty.com, and an HBA Splash jury member.
Brands that can apply to this pavilion for testing and review by the Splash jury include products with no more than two years in retail distribution (U.S. or international) and those that have an interesting development or back story. Finished goods that are effective, offer new solutions, and fill a unique consumer need will also be considered.
The Splash Pavilion will offer beauty brands a high-end turnkey package for product display and face-to-face meetings as part of the contract. Splash companies will also receive a complimentary three-day conference pass to the HBA conference program, and there will be scheduled beauty blogger and media tours throughout the event. Additionally, attendees will be able to vote on their top new products featured in this area.
“With 57% of the HBA audience specifically looking for finished products, the Splash Pavilion will be a wellspring of innovation and activity,” said Jill Birkett, brand director for the beauty and wellness industry.
