Panel to Explore Online Retailing at Cosmoprof North America

At Cosmoprof North America (July 22–24, 2012 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas), Jeff Falk, editor in chief, GCI, will moderate the "(R)Etail Landscape: Alternative Channels" conference panel.

Online retailing grew by 16% in 2010, according to Euromonitor International, adding $2 billion to global beauty sales, and U.S. e-commerce sales predicted to grow 62% to $327 billion, according to Forrester Research. Panelists Paula Scandone, vice president of beauty, HauteLook; Ethelbert Williams, head of marketing, TotalBeauty.com; and Allison Slater, general manager of beauty and healthy living, OpenSky will explore how women really feel about online shopping (based on a customized study done by TotalBeauty Media for Cosmoprof North America), how the right items and pricing structures are achieved with brand partners on member-only sites such as HauteLook, and newer models that takes a different approach to the traditional shopping experience such as OpenSky.

"(R)Etail Landscape: Alternative Channels" will be held July 22, 3:30–5 PM in the Pavilion B Conference Room. GCI will provide copies of the Euromonitor International report Beauty Specialist Retailers Highlight Expertise to Remain Relevant in a Competitive World.
