Celebrating 10 years in Las Vegas, Cosmoprof North America (CPNA) took place July 22–24 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center, and helped continue to bring energy and creativity to drive the beauty industry. The event united attendees and exhibitors at a platform for networking, sharing new and upcoming products and ideas, and cultivating new business relationships. With 856 exhibiting companies and more than 25,000 attendees, representing a 9% increase from 2011, global beauty members gathered here to develop ideas for the coming year and beyond.
The event’s International Buyer Program, sponsored by UNIPRO (the Italian Association of Cosmetic Industries), brought together buyers and sellers from around the world, and CPNA also dedicated sections of the floor to distinct country pavilions, including Italy, Brazil and South Korea, for an international perspective. The Discover Beauty pavilion hosted one-on-one meetings between emerging brands and retailers such as C.O. Bigelow, Duane Reade, Henri Bendel, HSN and Nordstrom. It also honored the 2012 Discover Beauty Award winner, Layla Cosmetics, and brought to fruition the first-ever Discover Beauty partnership with BeautySage.com, which will host an exclusive Discover Beauty pop-up store featuring three Discover Beauty brands: Marula—The Leakey Collection, Recipe for Men and Fairiche. CPNA introduced another initiative as a part of Discover Beauty—Spotlights, offering 19 smaller companies the opportunity to showcase their products to representatives from high-end retail stores, boutiques, and salons and spas.
In addition to interacting attendees and exhibitors, CPNA brought beauty leaders to the fore to share innovative ideas and experiences through its educational seminars. The seminars were filled with more than 500 attendees, and business and industry leaders from multiple sectors—including retail, packaging and color—participated in discussions and panels to share knowledge and insights.
