Beyond Beauty Paris Event Coverage

The 2008 Beauty Challenger Awards were presented on Monday, October 6 in a ceremony held during the Beyond Beauty Paris trade show and conferences. The competition attracted 52 entries from around the world.

Four awards were presented: Cosmeeting First Prize went to Erborian Korean Skin Therapy; Spa & Institute First Prize was awarded to Jewel Beauty for its Raku Massage Sandals; and the brand Need was awarded the Pharmameeting First Prize for its health sweets. The international jury of 40 industry experts awarded its “Coup de Coeur” prize to Ainy, a facial treatment line based on plants from the Andes and Amazonia. Erborian earned a third place award in 2007 for its skin care introduction, and this year entered the competition with a patented high-dose ginseng serum, an ultra-soft nano-emulsion made from Korean medicinal herbs.

The Beauty Challenger Awards are open to brands that seek selective or alternative distribution; present a distinctive, creative and innovative concept; are not part of a group; and were launched within the past five years. Evaluation criteria include innovation/distinctiveness, concept coherence, communications, quality texture and scents, aesthetcs and practicality in packaging.

Beyond Beauty Paris is an annual event comprising six trade shows and summits in one place: Cosmeeting, for beauty brands; Spa & Institut, for European spa and wellness treatments; Pharmameeting, on innovation in pharmacy; Creatve, for beauty suppliers and partners; Ingredients, for new formulation concepts; Natural Beauty Summit, for natural and organic beauty; and, Natural & Bio Cosmeeting.
