Sade Baderinwa, co-anchor, WABC-TV “Eyewitness News,” was the Mistress of Ceremony, and introduced Greene, noting that “Clinique’s lab coats have illustrated the trust we have placed in Clinique for decades, and ‘the little green compact’ made high school girls feel grown up. The right packaging can make a package sell, an iconic package can make or break a product.” Greene spoke of the critical need for persistence and the confidence of the Clinique brand. “One of the most beautiful things about Clinique is that no one has been able to ruin it,” said Greene, alluding to the need for consistency in vision for a brand. “Always aim to go for broke,” she told the scholarship winners. “You have vision; some don’t. Don’t let anyone kill your dreams.”
The program included Thomas F. Schutte, president, Pratt Institute, Christophe Czajka, president, Luxe Pack, who, unable to attend, was represented by Nathalie Grosdidier, general manager, Luxe Pack. Philip Shearer, group president, The Estée Lauder Companies, Inc. paid a special tribute to Marc Rosen and Lynne Greene, who he introduced as “an extraordinary leader.”
The event is celebrating its 40th anniversary, and raised an estimated $250,000 for the scholarship program. Rosen acknowledged the audience saying, “they reflected the diversity of the industry, particularly the students,” for whom Rosen works so tirelessly.
