in-cosmetics 2013 Set to Display More Innovation, Interaction Opportunities

Home to some of the world's most famous cosmetics and personal care brands, Paris will provide the an excellent setting for in-cosmetics as it returns to the French capital on April 16–18, 2013. With more than 600 exhibitors expected to attend, and exciting new features being launched, the event promises to be its biggest and best yet.

2013 is the International Year of Water Cooperation and in this age, reconsidering how water is used in the beauty industry is obviously a necessity. At the show, attendees are invited to follow an H2O Trail, visiting participating stands to discover unique formulations, new ingredients, product concepts and technologies that all use water innovatively for the development of creative beauty products. Two free-to-attend panel discussions with keynote speakers from leading brands will further delve into H2O innovations and initiatives to reduce water consumption and limit water pollution.

Also launching at in-cosmetics 2013 will be two new zones. At the Fragrance in Cosmetics Zone visitors will meet with fragrance houses, producers and distributors of fragrance ingredients, who will be showcasing their latest products, technologies and know-how. The interactive pods will allow visitors to discover exciting new scents, while a morning session in the Marketing Trends Theatre will look at the latest trends, regulations and formulation challenges in the fragrancing of cosmetics products.

Meanwhile, the Testing and Regulation Zone will provide a dedicated platform for visitors to gain advice from exhibitors on the increasingly important legal frameworks in Europe, Asia and the US, as well as the latest advances in testing technologies that will help ensure superior product efficacy.

Additionally, in-cosmetics 2013 will offer a free-to-attend educational program containing over 20% more content than its 2012 show, including innovation seminars highlighting exhibitors' most recent ingredient launches and marketing trends presentations designed to inspire creative thinking and inform visitors of the latest industry trends. Delegates can also pay to attend topical workshops to learn more about formulation techniques, gain insights into the latest scientific advances and receive advice on regulatory requirements from experts.

The popular Innovation Zone will also make its return, where exhibitors will display innovative ingredient launches from the six months leading up to the show. Daily product demonstrations from Mintel Beauty and Personal Care’s analysts will give attendees the opportunity to see, touch and taste the worldwide innovations featuring H2O, including beauty drinks, skin care, hair care and color cosmetics formulated with water from unique sources, and mix-it-yourself products that require the addition of water.

This year, four awards also will be presented to honor innovation and outstanding achievement at in-cosmetics 2013. The Lifetime Achievement Award makes its return for a second time to celebrate lifelong dedication to the industry, and the Innovation Zone Best Ingredient award will recognize the development of three unique active or functional ingredients. Cosmetics & Toiletries magazine, GCI’s sister publication, will also present its annual R&D Awards for Best New Ingredient and Most Creative Application.
