Global Innovation for The Estée Lauder Companies to Be Spearheaded by New Leader

The Estée Lauder Companies Inc. announced Guillaume Jesel has been named to the newly created position of senior vice president/general manager, global corporate innovation. Jesel will transition from his current role as senior vice president, global and North America marketing for MAC Cosmetics, to his new position, effective March 31, 2014.

Jesel will lead global corporate innovation, including corporate technologies, external innovation and the company’s long-term innovation pipeline and portfolio. During his transition, he will work closely with Daria Myers, senior vice president, global corporate innovation and sustainability. Since Myers joined the company’s corporate innovation division in 2009, its capabilities in this area have grown substantially in global expertise and scale. Her leadership has helped build a multi-stream, multi-year innovation pipeline that has kept the company on the cutting edge of prestige beauty.

Jesel has been in his current position since 2007; during this time, he has played an integral role in shaping the brand strategy with the MAC leadership team. His extensive experience includes the deployment of MAC’s 50 launches annually, spearheading the acceleration of local and cultural relevance efforts for the powerhouse brand and overseeing MAC’s product marketing, supply chain, and consumer marketing and insights. Jesel also helped lead the brand’s groundbreaking fashion and pop culture partnerships and collaborations, establishing the brand as a leader in social media, and contributing to the success of its breakthrough Viva Glam campaigns in support of the MAC AIDS Fund.

Jesel has been with the company for 14 years, serving in a number of senior roles, including vice president, global makeup marketing for the Estée Lauder brand, and executive director of international, MAC Cosmetics. Prior to joining the company, Jesel served in marketing capacities of increasing responsibility at the Lancôme division of L'Oréal.
