The Lubrizol Corporation (Lubrizol) has acquired Laboratoire Phenobio, a Bordeaux, France-based supplier of naturally-derived extracts and botanical ingredients.

Laboratoire Phenobio’s capabilities in subcritical water extraction (SWE) of botanical biomass, as well as its energy-economic and eco-responsible technologies, will add to Lubrizol’s global sustainability efforts. The company also possesses expertise in a technology used to extract phytoactives from botanical raw materials, commonly known as pressurized low polarity water (PLPW). This technology involves extraction of a broad range of phytoactives that are not normally obtained with only water.
