Gold Bond Ultimate Launches Its First Hand Sanitizer Moisturizer

Gold Bond launched Gold Bond Ultimate Hand Sanitizer Moisturizer, a true two-in-one product created to, according to a press release, effectively kill germs without drying hands. The new product has a patent-pending formula that has been shown to kill 99.9% of common germs and bacteria in 15 seconds without alcohol.

"Because dry, damaged skin is more susceptible to germs and harmful bacteria, it is vital that we don't just kill germs, but that we maintain and protect the health and integrity of our skin," said Jason Sondgeroth, Gold Bond product development director. "So we created a formula that not only kills germs, but also contains seven hydrating moisturizers, including a phospholipid complex to help restore the lipid barrier in the skin to lock in lasting moisture."

"Hand sanitizers are everywhere," said Lucas Mininger, Gold Bond marketing manager. "From purses to desktops to airports, they're convenient for when you are not able to get to soap and water. But the big complaint that kept showing up in our consumer research was that alcohol-based sanitizers really dry out the skin, especially in the harsh winter months. In fact, 42% of people who used a hand sanitizer said they had to use a moisturizer right afterward, just to keep their skin from drying out.

"When doing our market research, we found that 65% of consumers would use a hand sanitizer more often if there was a non-drying product on the market. But we knew we had something really special when consumers in our home-use tests were saying that it felt like a lotion, and they even preferred it to their current moisturizer. This addition to the Gold Bond Ultimate family has the added benefit of allowing people to sanitize more often, which is important especially during the dry winter flu season, while preserving the delicate skin on hands. It's a win-win for the consumer."

Gold Bond Ultimate Hand Sanitizer Moisturizer can typically be found in both the hand and body aisle and sanitizer sections of such retailers as Walmart, Target, Walgreens, CVS and many grocery stores. It comes in three sizes: 12 oz. pump retailing for $8.99, 2.7 oz. tube retailing for $4.49 and 1 oz. tube retailing for $1.49.
