After a five-year hiatus, Origins is re-entering the lip category with the launch of its Blooming Bold Lipstick and Blooming Sheer Lip Balm.
Blooming Bold Lipstick is formulated with 12 flowers, including lavender and rose, to provide users with full-coverage color that is meant to last all day. Available in 24 shades, the lipsticks also utilize flower waxes, wildflower honey and essential oils to hydrate and condition the lips.
Like the lipstick, Blooming Sheer Lip Balm is formulated with 12 flowers, flower waxes, wildflower honey and essential oils. Available in eight shades, the balm is intended to give users a hint of sheer, glossy color while hydrating the lips.
Lizz Starr, executive director of Origins Global Product Development, explains, “Through dedicated research, we discovered that the natural waxes in flowers are vital to the protection and overall health of its petals, making them ideal ingredients to help protect lips from dehydration. Secondly, these flower-based waxes have a melting point close to human body temperature, which allows for a smooth, effortless application. Lastly, Origins strives to incorporate naturally derived ingredients in our formulas, so creating a product that incorporates re-purposed, naturally derived ingredients was an all-around win.”
