BBW Exec to Be Honored at Circle of Champions Event

The Fragrance Foundation announced it will honor Camille McDonald, president of brand development and merchandising, Bath & Body Works, at its 2012 Circle of Champions dinner on Tuesday, October 4, at the St. Regis Hotel in New York. The Circle of Champions Award is presented annually at a dinner ceremony held in honor of an individual who is selected by the organization's board of directors and who has made a notable impact on the fragrance industry.

“Everyone who knows Camille knows she is a first-class business woman, industry game changer, brand-builder, good friend and kind mentor,” said Rochelle Bloom, president of The Fragrance Foundation. “The board of directors takes all of these qualities into consideration when choosing who should be inducted into The Circle that already includes many luminaries of the industry. It is with great pleasure that the board recognizes and salutes Camille’s superb skills in steering the brands under her watchful eye, her savvy marketing instincts, and her strong leadership, all of which has led to great success throughout her career.”

“It is a great privilege to be in such illustrious company as past honorees Thia Breen, Don Loftus, Leonard Lauder, Michael Gould, Pete Born and many others,” said McDonald. “These are industry leaders whom I have respected and admired for a lifetime, so I am thrilled to be included in this Circle.”

McDonald’s career path through the industry began with Charles of the Ritz and includes senior level positions with L’Oréal, Chanel and LVMH. In 2004, she moved on to Bath & Body Works to spearhead a brand and merchandising transformation of the company, leading a development team that applied a luxury lens to reposition and rejuvenate the brand’s key assets, driving substantial growth.

Her work has been recognized with FiFi (Fragrance Foundation) and CEW (Cosmetic Executive Women) awards, as well as magazine editorial awards, an Advertising Age top marketer award, the Beauty Ball Golden Apple, the CEW Achiever Award, and the Living Legend Award from the American Society of Perfumers. She also serves as a non-executive director on the board of Timex Group, Inc. and on several not-for-profit boards. She is an active mentor to students working toward the FIT master’s degree in beauty and fragrance, as well as to young executives in the CEW.
