Arminak & Associates Found Not Guilty of Patent Infringement

In a recent ruling, a federal judge found that Arminak & Associates’ AA trigger did not infringe two Saint-Gobain Calmar patents—including the patent covering the shroud of Calmar's Ergo trigger sprayer.The ruling stated that there were "striking differences between the AA trigger and the [Calmar] patented designs" such as to create "an overall visual impression of dissimilarity." In reaching the conclusion, the court noted that "no reasonable jury could find that an ordinary purchaser of trigger sprayers would be deceived" because of this striking degree of dissimilarity.
