Six hundred and fifty beauty industry executives and professionals recently met at Credicard Hall in São Paulo to celebrate the best of perfumery and cosmetics in Latin America for the Atualidade Cosmetica Awards, the equivalent of the Academy Awards for the Latin American beauty industry.
The night, which was led by presenter and model Daniella Cicarelli, featured the brand Jequiti winning the categories of Professional of the Year, Company of the Year and the Aparício Basílio trophy, which highlights the best Latin America Creation for Men. This year, the award honored the home fragrance Firmenich created, Aire Electric.
O Boticário was another of the night’s big winners. It received seven statues: for its Fun Tropical in the Bath and Hygiene category; its Nativa Spa Equilíbrio dos Fios in the Hygiene and Hair Care category; its Make B. in the Makeup category; its Zaad Amber in the Latin American Men's Fragrance—Consumer's Choice category; and for Glamour Secrets Black, which won the Latin American Women's Fragrance category in a vote that included a jury and consumers. The Glamour Secrets Rose fragrance, created by IFF, won the Aparício Basílio trophy for best Latin America Creation for Women.
Beauty Drink, the cosmetic drink created by the businesswoman Cristiana Arcangeli, won the Body Treatment category. In her speech, Arcangeli discussed the importance winning of the award. “Winning the trophy when competing with large companies such as Avon and Johnson & Johnson is an honor. More than a product, you elected a concept, a new concept that is just beginning in Brazil and that is [being exposed] to everyone in the market,” she said.
Natura won the prizes for best Facial Treatment, with Natura Chronos, and best Latin American Men's Fragrance with Natura Essencial Exclusivo. In International Fragrances, Vizcaya won with the Male's Voyage d´Hermés from Hermés, and then Female’s went to Rose The One, from Italian designer Dolce & Gabbana.
