A Revolution in Root Touch-ups: The Mixer

Posted: January 25, 2007
High tea at the Ritz-Carlton in New York provided the backdrop for an introduction to The Mixer, a new hair-coloring concept from Colour Revolution, a Toronto-based beauty firm. The January 10 launch was a New York follow-up to the product’s debut in July 2006, when Ruth Stern and Pauline Ashworth first introduced the concept.

After three and a half years of development, The Mixer is now available in New York at Clyde’s on Madison Avenue, as well as online at www.colour-revolution.ca. The product consists of an applicator with dual chambers that mixes color, and a developer for permanent color application to roots. The salon-quality product is not intended for all-over hair color, but is to be aimed at roots around the face, middle part and crown. In addition to offering no-mess application, it provides portability and convenience. Stern and Ashworth are positioning The Mixer as a beauty item, not a drugstore hair coloring product, and are working on plans to extend the product line.
