Hypoallergenic Skin Care Launch

VMV Hypoallergenics, a cosmeceutical skin care line, is undergoing a transformation, launching an effort to leverage its unique hypoallergenic product line in the international arena. The company, created by dermatologist/dermatopathologist Vermén Verallo-Rowell in 1979, has been recognized for its creation of a rating system for hypoallergenicity.

The VH-Number rating system—validated hypoallergenics—which works like an SPF system, grades a product’s safety based on how many allergens it does not contain, as referenced by the North American Contact Dermatitis Group. According to the company, most VMV products are rated VH 27, which means they contain none of the 27 known cosmetic and non-cosmetic allergens.

The products are manufactured in the Philippines with ingredients sourced globally, supported by clinical studies (both in vitro and in vivo), and the line consists of 200 SKUs.

The company’s newest announcement is its partnership with the Bliss catalogue, which now carries two of VMV’s best-selling products, Id Anti-Acne, Anti-Aging Face, Back, Body Lotion and Id Sweat Acne + Overall Antibacterial Monolaurin Gel, to cleanse and combat acne-prone skin. VMV products are also available at Harvey Nichols (Hong Kong), Boots UK in Thailand, VMV Skin-Specialist Boutiques in the Philippines and at C.O. Bigelow in New York City.
