The 2011 edition of Luxe Pack New York, now in its ninth year, will be the largest event to date—growing from 115 exhibitors in 2010 to 125. The show, which sold out five months before its opening, will be held May 18–19, at The Altman Building and Metropolitan Pavilion (135 West 18th Street between 6th & 7th Avenues).
To assist visitors in locating the suppliers that specialize in their market, Luxe Pack will now identify the specific market expertise of exhibitors on the show floor/map (there are two focuses in addition to beauty).
“Luxe Pack New York is the event that helps brands and designers develop their creative packaging, with all the resources needed under one roof,” said Nathalie Grosdidier, executive director, Luxe Pack New York. “The launch of the new specialized tracks will allow visitors to quickly identify the suppliers they need to see while still enjoying the creativity and inspiration provided by those exhibitors in other tracks.”
Seminars and special displays will again be a primary attraction at the two-day event. Internationally recognized designer Marc Rosen has organized a panel discussion, “The New Packaging Paradigm,” with Nick Gavrelis, vice president, global product development, MAC Cosmeticsand Linda Levy of Macy’s. Jeff Falk, editor, GCI magazine, will moderate a panel of exhibitors revealing their latest innovations.
Special exhibits will include:
- Luxe Pack Innovation Forum, which will showcase the newest creations and innovations from exhibitors including sustainable products.
- Material ConneXion Lab, which will enable visitors to explore latest material developments alongside a selection of material distinct products and packaging examples.
- The Fragrance Foundation’s FiFi Nominees.
- Pratt Institute “Marc Rosen Scholarship for Graduate Package Design” Recipients’ Designs.
