The Independent Cosmetic Manufacturers and Distributors (ICMAD) announced the winners of its seventh annual Cosmetic Innovators of The Year (CITY) Awards, which took place on Wednesday, June 20, at the Manhattan Penthouse in New York. With a 180% increase in applicants, the CITY Awards solidified its position as a place where entrepreneurs are recognized for their achievements.
Janet Gurwitch, founder and former CEO of Laura Mercier Cosmetics; Pam Busiek, CEO and president of ICMAD; and Ian Ginsberg, chairman of the board of ICMAD, presented the awards to the 14 winners, which were selected by a panel of industry experts. In addition to earning the CITY Award this year, the winning companies are taking part in the first-ever CITY 2012 Beauty Trunk Show at retailers including Ron Robinson, Apothia, Beauty.com, C.O. Bigelow, Henri Bendel New York and Skins 6|2, which will take place in late August.
