The San Francisco Bay Area is home to a vast community of beauty brands, manufacturers, packaging companies, suppliers, spas, salons and independent beauty professionals, making it the perfect environment for a professional organization. Now, the Bay Area Beauty Association (BABA) has stepped up to offer live events, webinars and a membership platform featuring resources such as a job bank.

Members include individuals and companies such as Anisa International, DHC Skincare, Perricone MD and Peninsula Beauty. Board members include Sinead Norenius, Jill Dunk, Ronie Schmelz and Jeannie Jarnot.

On May 19, BABA will host its second event in San Francisco at the Loews Regency Hotel featuring a surprise guest speaker in the technology/retail space. Registration is now open.

SF and Silicon Valley lead the tech industry and we have so much at our disposal in our backyard.

"We are really humbled and appreciative of the outpour of support from the local beauty community, other organizations and the trade," said said Sinead Norenius, BABA board member. "Our first event had an impressive turn out including all the large players in the industry like Sephora, Benefit, EVER by Stella & Dot, Rodan & Fields, P&G, investment bankers and other smaller indie brands."

She added, "We are clearly fulfilling a need in this area and it is our goal to develop and strengthen the beauty industry community, plus provide valuable education and workshops unlike no other. SF and Silicon Valley lead the tech industry and we have so much at our disposal in our backyard. We need to leverage that and help bring more disruptive innovation to our members, especially in e-commerce and the digital space and BABA will be that resource among other things."
