Lather, a Los Angeles-based skin care company, recently launched its first New York City Lather Spa and retail store. Founder Emilie Davidson Hoyt started the business in 1999 out of a passion for skin care and the benefits of aromatherapy. There is now a collection of more than 50 face, body and hair care products as well as candles, room sprays and hand-poured soaps. The company also offers products geared to men and the baby market.
The New York Spa has 15 treatment rooms, eight manicure/pedicure stations, and a variety of treatments inspired by and utilizing Lather’s products. The space encompasses a total of 6,000-square feet on four floors. Among its striking features, the Living Wall is a virtual vertical garden that purifies the air by increasing oxygen and improving circulation.
