IBG Wins Allē Award for Blue Light-blocking Cosmetics Line

IBG won a Cosmetics & Toiletries Allē Award for its blue light-blocking cosmetics line, Screensaver, developed as a one-time feature collection.

The line was named a winner in the Sun/Light Protection Product category for Finished Formulas presented during Beauty Accelerate in Los Angeles.

The C&T Allē awards recognize and honor the scientific discipline, formulating skills, resourcefulness and creativity of innovators throughout the cosmetic product development process — from ingredient suppliers and finished product manufacturers, to test method/tool designers, digital tech developers and more.

Judges comprised an esteemed panel of experts from companies including Shiseido, The Estée Lauder Companies, GOOP, CHANEL, L'Oréal and others, who rated entries based on parameters such as sustainability, multifunctionality, novelty, safety and proof of efficacy.

The company’s Screensaver line comprises a 9-product color cosmetics assortment of makeup essentials including primer, eyeshadow, blush, highlighter, lip gloss and more.

Each product in the range is formulated with functional ingredients such as calcium sodium borosilicate, jasmine leaf cell extract and sunflower seed oil that help reduce damage caused by daily environmental stressors and offer light-reflecting properties, per the company. This not only blocks blue light pollution from digital devices, but also gives users a long-lasting glow beyond just the glow of their screens, per the company. 

The Screensaver range includes:

Eye-Scaping Eyeshadow Palette: A day-to-night eyeshadow palette formulated with calcium sodium borosilicate for its light reflective properties. 

Face Filter Luminizing Primer: A skin-brightening and blue light-blocking face primer for use under makeup that minimizes dullness and hides imperfections. 

Shiny and New Highlight and Blush: A creamy, hydrating and lightweight dual-ended highlight and blush stick that offers a pop of color and glow.


Lip Filter Lip Gloss: A high shine, nourishing and non-sticky lip gloss that delivers glowing pout. 

Face Filter Setting Spray: A setting spray that acts as a filter from blue light devices. Ideal for locking in a finished makeup look for all-day wear or used as an all-over facial spray for a mid-day spritz and refresh. 

Highlight Powder: A glow-giving highlight powder formulated to help users stand out in a crowd. 

Lip Filter Lipstick: A lipstick infused with blue light-blocking ingredients. When worn, it feels like balm but looks like a lipstick.

Face Filter Priming and Setting Powder: A 2-in-1 priming and setting powder designed for all skin tones to keep makeup in place all day, with light-reflective properties for use against environmental stressors.

Refresh-Face All Over Cooling Face Balm: An all-over cooling face balm stick developed to refresh, hydrate, de-puff and cool the skin.

The panel of judges commented, “Living in a digital world with countless hours spent on the screen (TV, computer, cellphone), the concept for this line is essential to help defend the skin's moisture barrier vs. blue light.”
