New ICMAD Chairman, Board Announced

The Independent Cosmetics Manufacturers and Distributors (ICMAD) association announced Robb Akridge, PhD, co-founder of Clarisonic, as its new chairman of the board. It also welcomed six new members to the ICMAD board of directors. With a mission of fostering growth and success in independent beauty companies, ICMAD selects board members with extensive expertise and knowledge in the beauty, cosmetic and personal care industry. Comprised of top executives and owners of innovative cosmetic brands, the board provides ICMAD members with the information and advice they need to further develop their companies and move the beauty industry forward.

Joining the ICMAD board of Directors are six noteworthy members from beauty entrepreneurs to skin care executives. New member Susan Goldsberry is the President and CEO of Benchmark Cosmetic Laboratories, where she works with today’s top brands to provide cutting-edge research as well as specialized product development. Also joining the board is Shawn Tavakoli, founder and CEO of The Beauty Collection, a growing prestige beauty retailer, and Terry Schatz, COO of professional skin care line Bioelements. With her new board position, Colleen Pierce offers ICMAD members over 35 years of sales management experience with prestige beauty and advanced skin care brands, and Ada Polla, co-creator of Swiss-based skin care line Alchimie Forever and GCI editorial advisory board member, and Mary S. Ptak, tradeshow division manager at Masterpiece International Ltd., will also share their industry experience and knowledge with the ICMAD board and its members.
