BIW Luncheon: Navigating in Challenging Regulatory Waters - Updates on California and Federal Compliance

Issues arising around Prop 65 compliance, the "right to know statute" that covers more than 800 chemicals known to cause reproductive harm or cancer, have resulted in numerous Notices of Violation and more than 200 putative class action suits. Proper labeling and advertising strategies are necessary to insure compliance to state and federal laws, while careful examination of claims on labels and in advertising can prevent unnecessary litigation under California’s numerous consumer protection laws. Methods for working successfully with various regulating bodies at the state, federal and international levels will be discussed.
