Robertet has announced a significant evolution of its innovation strategy through a strategic investment in Aethera Biotech. This joint venture marks Robertet’s official entry into the biotech topical cosmetic active sector.

By partnering with Aethera Biotech—a subsidiary of the Italian family-owned Cereal Docks Group—Robertet is establishing a new "center of excellence" for future biotech developments.

The progressive investment will be completed in two phases over a three-year period, integrating Aethera’s proven scientific team and industrial platform into Robertet’s global operations.

For industry insiders, the move signifies more than just a portfolio expansion; it represents a fundamental shift in how Robertet intends to leverage its "augmented naturality" vision.

Jérôme Bruhat, CEO of Robertet, noted that the venture reflects a conviction that biotech will play an increasingly vital role in developing high-value, sustainable solutions for the beauty and health sectors.

The technical centerpiece of this acquisition is Aethera Biotech’s proprietary, multi-patented CROP (Controlled Release of Optimized Plants) platform. This technology uses in vitro plant cell cultures to produce natural phyto-complexes in highly controlled environments.

The CROP platform allows for the secure production of natural extracts regardless of climatic volatility, agricultural limitations, or geopolitical uncertainties.

By utilizing cell multiplication processes instead of traditional agricultural methods, the technology significantly reduces the environmental footprint of production.

Robertet plans to commercialize Aethera’s existing portfolio through its global distribution network, which spans more than 50 countries.
