The government of India has opened 50 India International Skill Centers (IISC) to promote youth in acquiring foreign assignment. The National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) initiated this completion under the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship on July 15, 2016.

The competition had 4,820 participants in 24 skills from 80 regional competitions. Amongst all these skills, beauty therapy has been very popular, and India was awarded the Medallion of Excellence in the 2015 WorldSkills competition in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Specifically, India’s Neha Chande from LTA Beauty School won competitions in both Brazil and New Zealand.

According to the director of LTA Beauty School, Vaishali Shah, “As far as beauty therapy is considered, it is the most sought after profession as it brings financial independence in short span of time. Our basic objective is to help our candidates to acquire global standard of skills with in-depth understanding of skin sciences so that they are not only competition-ready but they are also ready for working in any national or global salon.”
