Aveda has entered a global partnership with packaging leader AeroFlexx to become the first prestige beauty brand to commercialize a new liquid refill format. This innovation features a lightweight integrated airframe structure that significantly reduces environmental impact by using up to 70% less plastic than two standard 250ml Aveda bottles. Designed with circularity in mind, the technology is curbside recyclable and aligns with Aveda’s established design-for-recyclability principles to lower overall packaging footprints.
The technical design of the AeroFlexx format focuses on enhancing the consumer experience through a functional, resealable system that provides controlled refilling without compromising product performance. For the packaging industry, this move sets a new precedent for how prestige brands can integrate airframe structures to achieve plastic reduction targets while maintaining the high aesthetic standards of the luxury market. The refill packaging is scheduled to debut with select best-selling Aveda products beginning in early 2027, reinforcing the brand's long-term investment in innovations that prioritize environmental standards and streamlined recycling processes.
