Ichimaru Stimulates Regenerative Hair Growth

Burgeon-Up (INCI: Water (Aqua) (and) Alcohol (and) Nasturtium Officinale Leaf/Stem Extract) is a natural active that targets R-spondin 1 (RSPO1), which has been found to aid in regenerative medicine.

Here, the ingredient was utilized to upregulate RSPO1 secretion from the dermal papilla. This elongated the hair follicle by promoting its transition from the resting, telogen phase to the active anagen growth phase.

Specifically, RSPO1 extends each follicle’s period in the anagen phase by suppressing the secretion of dihydrotestosterone-induced hair loss factor-1 (DKK1). This, in turn, inhibits damage.

In vitro, the ingredient was shown to promote the secretion of RSPO1, suppressing the secretion of DKK 1. Ex vivo, it was confirmed to increase human hair follicle elongation. In vivo, in clinical trials, it effectively improved hair growth, as determined by growth rate and hair thickness.
