Updated research has indicated Lycored’s Lumenato can help aging skin by boosting the collagen network and helping to protect it against damage.

Lumenato is an ingestible skin care extract comprising a synergistic blend of natural tomato nutrients and antioxidants with reported benefits for beauty and skin wellness. A pre-clinical study recently suggested Lumenato can contribute to skin health by preserving and boosting levels of collagen, which is an integral structural component that declines in aged and photodamaged skin.

The study, published in PLoS One, specifically highlighted the extract’s ability to prevent the loss of type III collagen. This form of collagen decreases the response to inflammatory cytokines, which are induced by UV and other stressors.

The research showed Lumenato could defend against collagen-3 damage by balancing oxidative stress and reducing the free radicals secreted by neutrophils. These immune cells are found within the skin and have been shown to play a major role in collagen damage.

Lumenato is reportedly designed to nourish the skin and elevate its resilience, boosting its natural radiance and inner glow. Suggested for ingestible skin care supplements, Lumenato is plant-based, vegetarian, allergen-free, gluten-free, Kosher and halal, and non-GMO project verified.

“Our skin is impacted by both internal and environmental challenges that may accelerate skin aging,” stated Karin Hermoni, head of product and science at Lycored. “This can initiate a cascade of events that includes local damage such as inflammatory and oxidative damage and leads to collagen degradation and visible aging of the skin. This research shows that Lumenato could play an important role in balancing the skin’s response. With high concentrations of phytofluene and phytoene, Lumenato harnesses the natural power of the tomato to support skin from the inside out and help us age beautifully.”
